About Me

17 years old, current junior at OCSA

My Artistic Journey

Art has always been an essential part of my identity and has helped me understand who I am on my own terms. Regardless of what piece they are viewing, I want people to consider a different perspective when they see my artwork. Whether it be from shifting peoples’ perspectives on the concept of time and the connections between people, or about the gender roles in our culture and society, I want my artwork to penetrate the viewer and urge them to consider a deeper message that underlies the surface.

One of the most important goals that I have for myself past high school is to mentor Korean-American students and show them the ways in which to explore and understand their bicultural identity through creative outlets, whether it be through visual artwork, creative and personal writing, or through food. Being an artist is not simply limited to creating pieces and artwork, but also extends to inspiring the next generation of artists to find their voice through their own art form.
